Organic Cane Sugar

Simple exfoliation, naturally effective.

Organic cane sugar is made from sugarcane and consists primarily of sucrose. We use it in our sugar scrubs because its crystals provide simple physical exfoliation while pairing beautifully with the oils and butters in the formula.

The Science

Sugar works as a physical exfoliant. As the scrub is gently massaged over damp skin, the sugar crystals help loosen and remove dry surface skin cells.

Because sugar is water-soluble, the crystals gradually begin to dissolve when exposed to water. This gives sugar scrubs a different feel from exfoliants made with insoluble particles—the exfoliating crystals rinse away rather than remaining on the skin.

In our formulas, organic cane sugar:
